Water it’s an essential nutrient and one most of us take for granted.  Did you know that water makes up a large part of our body’s actual weight?  In fact, 60% of our weight comes from water! Our organs, our tissues, cells etc. they all depend on water to function optimally.

Just a few things water does:

Regulates body temperature

  • Moistens tissues in the eyes, nose and mouth

  • Protects body organs and tissues

  • Carries nutrients and oxygen to cells

  • Lubricates joints

  • Lessens burden on the kidneys and liver by flushing out waste products

  • Dissolves minerals and nutrients to make them accessible to your body

~ list from: Water: Essential for your body - Mayo Clinic Health System

This makes water a vital component in our health and aging process.

Unfortunately, it's estimated that around 75% of people only drink about 2.5 cups of water on a daily basis or roughly one water bottle worth.  This is way under what most people should be intaking on a daily basis especially those who work outside, are active, or are in an environment where hydration needs are increased.

How much water do we need?

We want to be drinking at least half of our body’s weight in ounces on a daily basis. That’s at least 64 oz of water and this could increase depending on activity levels and environment.

It’s also important to include minerals in your water throughout the day. So, for example adding an electrolyte booster, greens, and upping your meal with adding hydrating foods such as fresh vegetables, fruits, fermented dairy products (Keifer), lemon etc.  This will also help people who may not like the taste of plain water to get their hydration levels up. Studies also show links between hydration with aging and increased risks of disease processes such as lung disease, stroke, dementia, and cardiovascular issues.  Check the study here: Link between hydration and aging | National Institutes of Health (NIH) The good news with water, is that we now have the ability to harness it to help produce anti-aging and restorative effects. This is all done with the process of combining light frequencies with water as a carrier.  This amazing, technological breakthrough is found in a new water machine that not only triple filters, and oxygenates water, but also delivers light frequencies inside water for truly remarkable health benefits.  To learn more, go here
